I decided to tackle getting rid of old makeup, you know the stuff you lose track of how long you've actually had it and keep it, even though you never use it.
Our bathroom was starting to look like an episode of Hoarders. My fault.
I have (had) a large Mac makeup bag but it was full of back burner products that I never used. I wanted my entire collection to fit in my smaller makeup case (The clear one seen on the very messy counter).
Less is more in the case of toiletry products. I dumped it all in the garbage, Mac bag included.
Now I did pull out all of the empty Mac products (Yep, I was hoarding empties) because I like to participate in their "Back to Mac" recycling program and I have enough empty containers for a free eye shadow.
Score. Just in time because I'm almost out of "Shroom".
After much purging, I was finally at a state that everything comfortably fit in one makeup bag and I decided to tackle the additional unnecessarily kept products under the sink, throwing out extra tanning goggles, foot creams, old acne ointments and red hair dye I'm certain I've had for 3+ years.
My makeup bag now fits inside my hair care basket making under the sink more accessible and organized. It feels so good to get rid of stuff that's sole purpose was just to take up space.
The cleaning products were also easier to grab and since you can't do a job half as-butted (that's totally going to catch on), I cleaned the whole bathroom.
I promise this is what it normally looks like.
