#81. Save $500 in Change - Progress

This is one of my favorite goals because you never think about how quickly spare change can add up.

In my perfect world, we would continue to be able to take free vacations with change we've saved. Last year we were able to go to Emerald Lake for my birthday courtesy of the change jar.

This year I want to go to Disneyland for my birthday in October so it's unlikely we will save enough to have an entirely free trip but every penny counts.

Speaking of pennies, the banks are going to stop accepting them soon (they may have already) so I wanted to make sure I got our final roll to the bank before that happens. I cleared out the owl bank and started rolling.

I thankfully had just enough to fill a roll of pennies without one to spare. And I was also able to fill two rolls of quarters. Hey Big Saver.

Tomorrow I'll take this $20.50 to the bank for a total in the change account of $231.80.

Almost half way to the goal!

#95. Get Rid of Old Makeup - Completed

Since I was a little bummed about not being able to cross a goal off my list earlier, I was still eager to accomplish something today, however small.

I decided to tackle getting rid of old makeup, you know the stuff you lose track of how long you've actually had it and keep it, even though you never use it.

Our bathroom was starting to look like an episode of Hoarders. My fault.

I have (had) a large Mac makeup bag but it was full of back burner products that I never used. I wanted my entire collection to fit in my smaller makeup case (The clear one seen on the very messy counter).

Less is more in the case of toiletry products. I dumped it all in the garbage, Mac bag included.

Now I did pull out all of the empty Mac products (Yep, I was hoarding empties) because I like to participate in their "Back to Mac" recycling program and I have enough empty containers for a free eye shadow.

Score. Just in time because I'm almost out of  "Shroom".

After much purging, I was finally at a state that everything comfortably fit in one makeup bag and I decided to tackle the additional unnecessarily kept products under the sink, throwing out extra tanning goggles, foot creams, old acne ointments and red hair dye I'm certain I've had for 3+ years.

My makeup bag now fits inside my hair care basket making under the sink more accessible and organized. It feels so good to get rid of stuff that's sole purpose was just to take up space.

The cleaning products were also easier to grab and since you can't do a job half as-butted (that's totally going to catch on), I cleaned the whole bathroom.

I promise this is what it normally looks like.

#95 - Completed!

#92: Get Drivers License - Progress

Today marked my final driving lesson. 10 hours of driving after a long 15 hours of classroom study.

Today also marked my driving test. Leading up to it, I was nervous. I want so badly to pass so I can visit B at work during the long weekend. During my lesson, we practiced a lot of parking, especially parallel which is what I was scared would cause me to fail.

I won't say I mastered the method, but I certainly felt confident.  I was completely calm going into my test.

It lasted less than 20 minutes. As expected, I did struggle with my parking but I pulled it off and I was getting excited to finally get my license.

We pulled up to the registry and the instructor turned to me and said "Well, it was close, but you failed. Do you know what you did wrong?"

I didn't.

He told me I stopped traffic at a corner where I was to turn right. Even though there was a truck beside me and I inched up to see if there was any traffic coming from the left, I had the right of way and I shouldn't have hesitated because there was a vehicle behind me waiting.

I was confused but immediately asked when I could reschedule. The last thing I wanted to do was argue and leave a bad taste in his mouth for my next test.

It's been years and I've finally found the courage to get this done in my life so I'm determined to see it through.

My next test is Saturday at 12:30!

I'm hoping that will be the day and then I will come home and pack up Jax and head out to Canmore to spend the remainder of the weekend with B.
